Ever sit down to art journal and find your brain has gone completely blank?
Meet image seeds: little visual starting points made from your own photos, ready and waiting to get a page going when inspiration is nowhere to be found. Think of them as a head start for your creativity, without having to come up with an idea from scratch.
Your photos are full of memories, ideas and little things you’ve noticed along the way. But too often they stay hidden - let’s give them a second life!
Bookmark this page, save the link, do whatever you need to do. Your future, blank-page-staring self will thank you! I’ll be adding a new video each week.

PHOTO CUT-OUTS
In this video, I’m sharing a simple way to alter your own photos using a craft knife, collage papers and colour. We then use them to kick-start an art journal page - perfect for getting over the fear of the blank page.
If you fancy having a play yourself, you can download the exact photo I use in the video too - just click the link in the description.
STICKY TAPE TRANSFER
Sticky Tape Image Transfer - Tips
I use Scotch Magic Tape - it ends up almost transparent and won’t go yellow over time like other tapes can.
I use matt medium to stick the images and collage papers down
Go for a high contrast image with plenty of white areas to allow collage paper colour to show through
